Sweetune songs are much harder to find these days, but the once mighty hitmakers haven't quite joined the unemployment line with E-Tribe just yet. They now produce tracks for a handful of Z-list boy bands, on top of former KARA member Nicole's Japanese career.
There's been a couple of girl groups that have pushed the sexy concept further than Stellar did with their bar-lowering "Marionette" era, but none have come close to having the kind of impact that the controversial quartet did.
I loved Nicole's underrated debut single "MAMA" more than a sasaeng loves their oppa's dirty underwear, but I get why it didn't win everybody over. It was a little dark and restrained without much of a chorus, so it was never going to connect with people the way KARA's pop confections usually did.
