Stellar‘s “Vibrato” just debuted on the Gaon chart, and the results aren’t pretty.

The nu-disco vaginanthem scraped in at No. 97, which is better than “Mask” and “Fool” but still a flop no matter how you spin on it.

On the bright side, the “Vibrato” era is getting Stellar the most publicity they’ve had since “Marionette.” “Vibrato” debuted at No. 2 on the Gaon social chart, just behind INFINITE’s terrible new single, and also topped YouTube’s K-pop MV chart for the week.

Stellar’s also just landed their own episode of MBC’s Human Documentary, due to air August 8. It’s basically a reality show where Stellar will continue to push their current angle of being poor sweet girls forced to go sexy for success, so their ep will focus on their ‘real’ personalities and feature interviews with their family members.

Other female idols to appear on the show include Kahi, Girl’s Day, trainees from MBK and JYP, and Tiny-G’s Dohee.

If you’ve been paying any attention to the various netizen websites lately (NB, PC, KPKF) then you’ll have seen how the public’s comments towards Stellar have geared towards supporting the group out of pity rather than blindly bashing them for their controversial sexy concept.

Stellar’s been riding this sentiment as of late, giving a handful of tell-all interviews about their struggles, including one epic fucking interview that was recently translated and posted on AllKPop (another similar one with TenAsia has yet to be translated).

I’m not sure how much of these interviews are honest and how much is just savvy media play from Stellar’s agency, but I’m obsessed with Stellar’s no filter approach and living for every word that comes from their lips.

Anyway, you can check out the most recent “Vibrato” performance below. Can they please change their outfits to something raunchier? They literally look conservative compared to some of the recent girl group comebacks, like AOA and SISTAR! They should at least be pushing it as far as Hyosung did, who probably had the most overall erotic comeback of the summer.

I’m so bummed out they’re not doing better, but I guess it’s to be expected… I personally love the song just on its’ own, and the mv just makes it even better imo. :/

Well, at least ‘Vibrato’ did better than HV’s ‘I’m Ill’. So that’s… something, I guess.

  • Jaehyus

Anyone got a link to the MBC Human Documentary with MBK trainees?

The utter silence must be soul destroying

    • whatever

I don’t see the problem they look fine.

    • Nation’s first love

  • Pitty-dols fighting!

  • i love love their approach, even if it’s all as staged taeyeon’s skills as songwriter. the best part about that allkpop-translated interview is the ambiguity. lol it times seems like they were pushed to go the sexy concept, then later it feels like it was their decision to continue it…

in all, there’s one great truth about that: their response that their music is good and they just want people to listen to it. because yes! stellar’s one of the best groups musically, so of course they’re a flop.

So even them selling sexy doesn’t have people buying? Thats just sad.
