Cassie is getting ready to make her 57th comeback!
The Ciroc Chanteuse and R&B deity announced the good news on Instagram in a long-winded post about how we need to make every day count and shit.
Here’s the music-related portion of it:
For those that do wonder at all, I started working on my music again and I’m so proud and excited for my new project and sound. I’ve made promises to myself that I never have before because we lose track of time, and you know what…? Every single day counts. I don’t want to waste anymore of them. Granted I’ve made many mistakes as we all have in the past, I’ve decided that I don’t want to have anymore regrets. I’ve made plans for a better year to come and many more there after.
The new music will be Cassie’s first since the RockaByeBaby mixtape dropped over a year-and-a-half ago.
We can only pray that Ryan Leslie will produce some of the new stuff, because no female in the urban-pop field has been able to make a better record than Cassie’s self-titled debut since its release — yes, that goes for Beyawnce, Ciara, Tinashe, and the rest of ’em.
Speaking of Cassie’s first album, it’s getting a limited-edition vinyl release early next year!
Eight years later, and Cassie’s debut is still relevant in the music industry.
