If there’s one thing that pop music needs more of, it’s 2003-2006 era Jamelia. If there’s another thing it needs, it’s for someone to rip-off Rainbow Blaxx and T-ara videos so the world can be reminded of just how perfect and underrated both Rainbow Blaxx and T-ara really are.

FIESTAR have achieved both of those things with their new single, “One More,” which is basically just a sped-up version of “Superstar” with lyrics about threesomes and a music video that’s just mash-up of “Cha Cha” and “No. 9.”

The voyeuristic video also recalls a popular Korean smut film called Let’s Go To Rose Motel, although I’m not sure if that particular homage is intentional or just a coincidence.

While the video fails to reach the sleazy rock bottom of STELLAR’s “Marionette,” lyrically it’s probably the most brazenly sexual girl group single to come along in years. The lyrics are literally about a girl who’s unsatisfied with her sex life, so she demands that her boyfriend add an extra participant to the bedroom in order to save their relationship.

In other words, FIESTAR are all gay men trapped in women’s bodies.

Sex aside, “One More” is genuinely addictive in a way that hasn’t been seen from FIESTAR since they debuted with “Vista.” Anything that even remotely resembles Jamelia is going to be an instant win, but FIESTAR have spiced up the source material with more pep and catchy refrains to create one of the biggest K-pop earworms of the year.

Now that FIESTAR have finally taken the if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em approach to promo by stripping off and singing about getting DP’d, hopefully people will start paying more attention to them from now on. Including me, who didn’t even get into their last single until months after it came out.
