Sometimes I don’t know whether I’m more excited for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s music or her visuals. Actually, I do know: before I saw her live in concert it was the visuals, but then post-concert it was definitely the music (it took seeing “Fashion Monster” live to realize that it’s the best fucking song ever).
Anyway, Kyary has a new album called Pika Pika Fantajin coming out, and the official cover art is more of the same awesomely demented kawaii shit that we all stan for.
With KPP growing more popular globally, she’s also put out a charming English statement about the album.
“This album is cute and packed with lots of shiny and sparkly stuff! A lot of the songs on this album are new, and written especially for this release. So I think this is something that can be enjoyed by anyone. Since I turned 21 this year, I tried to show my more mature side in the album booklet as well. I hope everyone likes it. I packed this album with my own fantasy and imagination so please take a listen!”
My criteria for purchasing a new album is that it either contains lots of fantasy and imagination, or lots of shiny and sparkly stuff. Since Pika Pika Fantajin has both, I intend to buy it.
