I so desperately wanted to sing the praises of Namie Amuro’s Beyonce career-ender, “Hands On Me,” on arcadey, but the site still wasn’t open when the video premiered, so I wrote about it for Popdust instead. Luckily, Namie’s not done releasing videos from her forthcoming Feel album just yet, so I get the honor of sharing the clip for her Zedd-produced, Lady GaGa career-ender, “Heaven.”
Zedd’s gathered a storm of high-octane dance-pop on this one, and still left room for some pretty moments. It also sounds like he stole a few bits from Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been,” which is totally fine since this is way better anyway. It’s the kind of song that I’d scream at Kylie to release if she hadn’t already dropped the magnificent “Skirt.”
Most of “Heaven” is sung in perfect Engrish, but some of you might think that it’s all Japanese considering this:
HAIR-BOON! IS WHERE WE ARE WHERE WE ARE! HAIR-BOON! IS LIKE STAR LIKE STAR!
Namie may not be able to correctly pronounce the name of her own song, but she sure knows how to swing a mean pony. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a woman this beautiful whipping her hair with this much cunty fierceness to a song this fucking flawless? Oh, never? Thought so.
